2016 Scholarship awarded to Madelyn Dudley

Howdy! I just finished my freshman year of general engineering at Texas A&M University. Next year I hope to continue my studies in mechanical engineering. Along with obtaining a Bachelor of Science in engineering, I am also minoring in Spanish. After graduating I hope to find a job near the Houston area. My first semester I was involved in a freshman leadership organization called FREE (Freshman Reaching Excellence in Engineering). FREE works to bring freshman engineers together and introduce them to the engineering industry by bringing professionals in the workforce to come talk during our meetings. We also participated in community service such as Replant and helping with the Boys and Girls club.  I also played on a city league softball team! This semester I joined Breakaway. It is an organization that exists to introduce College Students to Jesus Christ and connect students to the local churches. This semester I also volunteered for the youth group at Christ United Methodist Church. I organize a bible study for the middle school girls that attend the church every Wednesday, and on Sundays I volunteer for the programming for the entire youth group.
