2016 Scholarship awarded to Odalis Alvarado

My name is Odalis Cecilia Alvarado and I was born and raised in Bryan, Texas. I’m a Junior at Sam Houston State University majoring in Criminal Justice. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I will then further my education by earning my masters. I wish to then gain admission to the law school of my choice, to then practice criminal law. Over time, once I earn much-needed knowledge about the criminal justice system, I will then apply for a position within the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a detective or special agent, my ultimate goal. I’m involved in many organizations on campus some include Academic Chair for my sorority Lambda Theta Alpha, Pre-Law Learning Community, National Organization of Hispanics in Criminal Justice, TRIO and Rotaract. When I have free time I enjoy playing soccer, running, tennis, reading, and writing. My community service has been done with the Good Shepherd Mission in Huntsville, Texas.
