2020 Scholarship awarded to Ethan Pham
My name is Ethan Pham, and I am attending Rice University with plans to major in either biochemistry or computer science. I am on a pre-med track and hope to attend medical school after obtaining my undergraduate degree.
As a junior in high school, I was very fortunate to work in a biochemistry lab at Texas A&M University, which sparked my passion for the subject. I hope to get a similar research position in college while exploring my interests in both natural science and computer science, a subject I was recently introduced to over the summer.
My love for community service and helping others led me to pursue a future in medicine. In high school, I worked as a math tutor, volunteered at my local hospital, and participated in clubs such as NHS and Student Council. I am looking forward to continuing tutoring in college, as well as joining clubs such as Habitat for Humanity and the Coalition for Hunger and Homelessness.
